Originally from Western New York, Ben and his wife relocated to Charlottesville in 2005 with their two boys. Ben played college baseball for both Jamestown Community College earning an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and Humanities and at Hilbert College where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He has worked previously as a carpenter, state department security officer, EOD K-9 handler, and a nuclear security officer. He was a member of the Stony Point Volunteer Fire Company for 8 years where he was a firefighter and pump truck operator. He volunteered for the Army Reserves and served as a Combat Medic, a Drill Sergeant and an Intelligence Analyst where he earned a second Associate’s Degree in Intelligence Operations. He has served in Iraq and Syria and was awarded the Bronze Star in 2021 before retiring as a Sergeant First Class with 26 years’ service in 2022. Ben joined TimberStone in 2015 and enjoys the outdoors, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
